Swiss Wellness Day Spa, one of Australia’s first ‘all natural’ day spa is celebrating 20 years of holistic care, natural beauty and community connection on King William Road.

From the beginning, Swiss Wellness was different. Instead of using mass-produced beauty products filled with chemicals and artificial fragrances, the Swiss Wellness team handcrafted blends from botanicals and plant extracts for all spa treatments. Every treatment has always been carried out using products so natural and safe that they could almost be eaten.

In 2005, Melinda Harper moved Swiss Wellness to 125 King William Road Hyde Park, where it has remained ever since. Melinda’s journey began more than two decades ago when she was diagnosed with coeliac disease, a discovery that revealed just how many hidden toxins exist in everyday life! It was not only food that contained harmful additives and hidden gluten, but also shampoos, skincare and household products.

“The skin is the body’s largest organ, and what we put on it matters just as much as what we eat,” explains Melinda. “I wanted to create a place where people could experience care that was truly clean and supportive of their health.”

This commitment led to the creation of Swiss Wellness Skincare, which was relaunched in 2022 as Adelaide Hills Organics ®. The handmade range includes everyday essentials such as the Gentle Face Cream Cleanser, the signature Organic Perfecta Oil and the popular Raspberry & Carrot Seed Oil Sunscreens. Each product is crafted from unique blends of natural and organic ingredients, and every Adelaide Hills Organics ® formulation is free from parabens, GMOs and synthetic chemicals.

Over 20years Swiss Wellness Day Spa has grown a loyal following. Some of the very first clients still visit regularly today, now bringing their children for treatments. The team remains just as dedicated, with therapists who have been part of the spa since its earliest days. “Our clients are like family, and our team is the heart of what we do,” says Melinda. “We have been privileged to look after people’s wellbeing through every stage of life.”

The spa has also been a proud supporter of its community, staying open through COVID and contributing to local initiatives from King William Road events to the Tour Down Under and Christmas festivities. Swiss Wellness Day Spa has also supported charities including the Carly Ryan Foundation, Ken McGregor Foundation and Tennis SA events and other local fundraisers.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary, Swiss Wellness is running a special voucher initiative. Throughout October, selected King William Road businesses will be gifting $20 Swiss Wellness vouchers with purchases, giving locals the chance to enjoy treatments at the spa as part of the milestone.

On the official birthday, 11 October, Swiss Wellness will host an in-spa celebration with Bliss Balls, balloons and special offers. Guests who book treatments on the day will receive $20 off their service, with the invitation open to new and returning clients.
